• When and where is the Wisconsin High School Sports Awards?
  • The Wisconsin High School Sports Awards will take place May 8, 2019 at Fox Cities Performing Arts Center.


  • What’s the difference between a nominated athlete/coach and an invited athlete/coach?
  • Nominated athletes and coaches are nominated for an award at the show. Their names will be listed in the nominee section of this website (also linked above in the navigation bar) as they are announced.

    Invited athletes and coaches are those that are not nominated for an award but are still invited to the show. This would include Athlete of the Week winners, State Championship team members, etc. Invited athletes and coaches will be invited by Wisconsin’s USA TODAY NETWORK publications.

    All nominated athletes/coaches and invited athletes/coaches need to RSVP to reserve their tickets for the event.


  • What’s included with my ticket?
  • Both purchased and complimentary tickets include entry into the event and a seat in the venue. The ticket does not include any access to the celebrity guest. No food will be served during the show.


  • What will happen the night of the event?
  • The red carpet opens at 6 p.m. and the show starts at 7 p.m. All attendees must have a ticket to attend the show. Nominees and invited athletes/coaches receiving complimentary tickets should arrive no later than 6 p.m. and will need to check in with their complimentary guest.

    PLEASE NOTE: nominees and invited athletes/coaches will simply check-in by last name with their complimentary guest at the event in order to receive their tickets. There is no ticket that you need to bring to the event.

    Purchased ticket holders will receive their tickets via email attachment. You will need to print your tickets and bring them with you to get into the event.

    As you enter the venue there will be a red carpet experience with photo opportunities for all event attendees. You will need to enter the event space by 6:45 p.m. to be seated for the 7 p.m. show start. The show will feature various awards, contests, and a celebrity guest. As award winners are announced, they will be brought on stage to accept their award.


  • Where will I be seated?
  • This event is general admission seating. All purchased ticket holders, nominated coaches, invited coaches/ADs, and complimentary guests will be seated in the general admission area on a first come, first served basis. All nominated athletes and invited athletes will be seated in a reserved section towards the stage.


  • How are winners chosen?
  • The winners are selected by Wisconsin’s USA TODAY NETWORK publications.


  • What should I wear to the event?
  • This is a red carpet award show; cocktail attire is recommended.


  • What time should I arrive to the event?
  • The red carpet will open at 6 p.m. and the show will begin at 7 p.m. You will need to enter the event space by 6:45 p.m. to be seated.


  • What do I need to bring with me to the event?
  • Nominees, invited athletes/coaches, and their complimentary guests do not need to bring anything to the event. They will simply check in with their complimentary guest at the check-in table by last name.

    Purchased ticket holders will need to bring their printed out ticket to get into the event.

  • Who will have access to the celebrity guest?
  • The celebrity guest will be seen by the general public on stage for the question and answer portion of the show. There will be no opportunities for photos or autographs. No outside media will have access to them.
